Although
the art of filmmaking is not competitive, The Motor City
International Film Festival does give awards. The festival
jury will present awards to films selected as best in these
categories: Documentary, Animation, Foreign, Gospel, “Made
In Detroit”, "Diva's in Filmmaking”, Music Video/ Soundtrack and Film Shorts Awards (45 min
or less).
A complete entry form and an entry
fee must accompany each film or video submitted. We accept
works shot on 35mm, 16mm, HD or DV for screening, however
entries must be submitted on DVD in either NTSC or PAL/SEACAM
format. Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled
in English. In addition to your entry, please enclose a written
description or synopsis. We strongly encourage you to include
at least on black and white photo still or digital image
as well as any press kits, reviews, or publicity materials
you might have.
Works-in-progress will be considered
for the festival provided they will be completed no later
than July 31st (Free until June 1, 2011). Works-in-progress
(i.e. interlock, rough cuts) cannot be screened at the festival.
Please send only one entry per DVD.
